During my year abroad, I got to experience Thanksgiving and travel the length and breadth of California. I would recommend it to anyone because it really is a life-changing experience.

OUR RESEARCH

Our research reflects the rapid historical and cultural development of America, and how in turn American culture represents history. Our diverse research output ranges from an exploration of the political tensions of the American Revolution to appraising gender roles in US animation. Our research is a rich and varied examination of the world's ultimate super power.

STUDY ABROAD

Unlike the degrees offered by most other universities which only include a semester in the States, our BA American Studies course includes a year in which to fully immerse yourself in the culture.
