Summary

Having completed his PhD at the University of Sussex, Xiudian started his academic career in 1994 as a lecturer in the former Department of European Studies at the University of Hull. He then joined the Department of Politics and International Studies in 2001 as senior lecturer. Xiudian's main teaching and research interests are the politics and political economy of new information and communications technologies (ICTs) in general and the politics of the internet in particular. His research and teaching also covers Chinese politics and China's foreign relations.
