Qualifications
- PhD / DPhil (University of Oxford)
Summary
Tim read Chemistry at Oxford and undertook a DPhil in Materials Chemistry (Homochiral Coordination Polymers) under Professor Matt Rosseinsky.
He carried out postdoctoral work with Professor Peter Battle into anisotropic oxides and metal nitrides, discovering a facile route to filled β-manganese and η-carbide interstitial nitrides.
Before coming to Hull, Tim was Station Scientist (X-ray Diffraction) at the Synchroton Radiation Source, Daresbury.
He is currently engaged in structural analysis using single-crystal and powder diffraction for a huge range of different compounds: MOFs, coordination compounds, organometallics, pharmaceuticals.
