Rich came to the University of Hull in 2019 from Keele University where he had completed his PhD, on absolute and global instabilities in mixing layers, under the supervision of Prof J J Healey and Prof V Shrira.

He is passionate about teaching Mathematics. His research focuses on hydrodynamic stability analysis and its applications to fluid flows.

Professional highlights

Secondment to the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Science, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia (2014). Collaborative work on the processes in the air/water interface with the use of experimental set-up and field work.
