​Mike Brayshaw has been undertaking research on artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and computers and education since 1985.

He is particularly interested in computers and education for teaching computer science, particularly programming.

Frequently the work looks at how to provide better learning experiences which are more flexible and personalised.
