Miguel Bonet-Mateo worked at the Nissan Motor Ibérica plant in Barcelona, from 1986 to 1994, where his duties included translating and interpreting, regularly visiting the Nissan plant in Sunderland.

He moved to the UK in 1994, first to London and then to Hull where he gained an MA in Applied Languages and New Technologies.

Miguel has broad experience teaching Spanish at all levels. Currently, he is teaching Spanish to specialists on Spanish studies programmes and non-specialists within the Passport language learning programme.


Research Interests

  • Spanish language teaching methodology. In particular, the way in which the language input is displayed, managed and mapped out onto different methodologies or language teaching practices. The aim of the research is to find the right balance between an informed selection of teaching approaches and language learning resources in order to cater for individual learners’ needs.
