Admissions Tutor for Physics/ Programme Director for Theoretical Physics, Physics Study Abroad and Physics with Industrial Placement

Martin gained both his BA in Physics and Theoretical Physics and his PhD, studying theoretical models of foam and emulsion rheology under Prof Mike Cates (FRS), from Cambridge University.

He moved to Leeds in 1994, where he first worked as a postdoc with Prof Tom McLeish (FRS), then as an EPSRC advanced research fellow, before moving to the University of Hull in 2005 where he is currently Senior Lecturer.

Martin's research area is in the theory of soft matter, with a current focus on the self assembly of colloids at liquid interfaces and block copolymer solutions.
