Dr Joscha Prochno

Assistant Professor

Faculty of Science and Engineering

School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences

01482 466394

Dr Prochno was educated at Heinrich-Heine University Duesseldorf (Germany) and Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel (Germany) where he studied mathematics and physics. After research stays at the TEI in Kozani (Greece) and at the famous Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences in Toronto (Canada), in 2011 he was awarded the title doctor of science in mathematics (PhD) for his research on the geometry of Banach spaces under the supervision of Carsten Schuett.

In 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta in Edmonton working with Nicole Tomczak-Jaegermann and Alexander Litvak. After that he was a postdoc at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz (Austria) and in 2014 he was awarded a prestigious Lise Meitner research grant of the Austrian Science Foundation. Since October 2015 Dr Prochno has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Hull and in 2017 he was announced as Visiting International Professor at the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany).
