Dr Joanne Traunter is the Education Studies Academic Lead for the School of Education and Social Sciences, a post she shares with colleague Tricia Shaw.

She has worked in the Early Years sector for more than 20 years. Before coming to the University of Hull, she worked for HCUK as Curriculum Leader for Higher Education in Childhood Studies.

Since joining the University, Dr Traunter has taught on and led a variety of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as supervising students at all levels.

Her research interests include professional identity in the children's workforce and creative contexts for young children's learning.
