Summary

Chris Murphy joined the University from the NHS in 2003 having worked for several years as a biomedical scientist and then as a laboratory manager. Her discipline area is microbiology which she has taught since starting at the University and she has a special interest in antibiotic resistance. Throughout her NHS career, Mrs Murphy had a keen interest in training and quality issues and brought this to her teaching in areas relating to professional standards for biomedical scientists. For many years she was the programme leader for Biomedical and Healthcare Science and remains a registered biomedical scientist.
