Summary

Ben is a lecturer in inorganic chemistry whose research focuses on the development of functional metal complexes, with an emphasis on organometallic compounds with therapeutic and catalytic applications. Current projects include the development of organometallic complexes with pH-dependent reactivity, and chiral-at-metal complexes for applications in catalysis. Ben joined the University of Hull in February 2015. He previously gained a first in Chemistry in 2005 from the University of Durham where he remained to be awarded a PhD in coordination chemistry in 2009. He performed postdoctoral research at Newcastle University (2009-2011) and was awarded a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland (2011-2013).
