Summary

Antony is senior lecturer in legal and political philosophy and director of the programme on the ethics of expertise and professional ethics at the Institute of Applied Ethics. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. Before coming to Hull he taught at the Universities of Edinburgh, Leeds, Patras and Cyprus and held a visiting fellowship at Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. He was recently awarded a visiting fellowship at the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University. His book on authority and expertise in ancient legal and political philosophy is forthcoming by Routledge and he is currently working on a manuscript on Plato's philosophy of law.

Antony regularly teaches on the following undergraduate modules: Philosophy, History and Ideology, The Power of Ideas, History of Political Thought, Contemporary Political Philosophy, Electoral and Voting Systems, Paths of Research, Philosophy of Law and Ancient Philosophy. He also offers thematic blocks for the MA in International Relations on Political Psychology, Theory and Philosophy of International Law and Global Democracy.

Antony works on ancient philosophy (mainly Plato and Aristotle), contemporary legal and political philosophy (especially on legal and political authority and on expertise in law and politics) and philosophy of action.
