Summary

I am a Lecturer in Digital Education at the School of Education at the University of Hull. My overarching research interest is in developing critical understandings on the digitisation of education. I am particularly interested in the areas of critical digital literacies, school platformisation, and teachers and students’ experiences of digital technology use in formal and informal educational contexts. I have long experience as a PI or Co-I in various research projects and I have conducted funded research within schools in the UK and abroad. Before joining the University of Hull, I worked as a researcher at the UCL Institute of Education.

I am currently the PI for two research projects funded by the BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants and the British Council. The first looks at school platformisation and digital inequalities, and the second aims to support Thai teachers with teaching English for communication.

Previously I was the PI for the DETECT Erasmus+ KA2 project that focused on supporting teachers with developing critical digital literacies (www.detectproject.eu).
