Chronic Disease (Cancer, Cardiovascular, Wounds)
Chronic diseases and ageing are a major focus area. Research spans biological mechanism, through translational models, clinical studies and intervention.
Cancer research focuses on hypoxia, modulating the tumour microenvironment, biomarker identification, clinical oncology, tumour immunology, and cancer diagnostics.
Cardiovascular research addresses cardiac dysfunction, platelet biology and intervention.
The advanced wound care grouping is interested in chronic wound pathology, wound microbiology, translational models and novel treatment methods.
Our research closely integrates with NHS partners and a number of our research groups are based in the Daisy Research Laboratories at Castle Hill Hospital.
