The Westminster placement scheme has been running for 25 years and is the largest in the UK, providing unparalleled access to the Houses of Parliament. At Hull our placement students are fully supported in Westminster by Lord Norton, our Professor of Government, and by dedicated staff in Hull .

BA British Politics and Legislative Studies students take part in the year-long Westminster-Hull Internship programme. In an increasingly crowded graduate marketplace, having a good degree is not enough. Today's employers not only expect their graduate entrants to exhibit a wide range of interpersonal and transferable skills but to also have workplace experience. The School of Law and Politics, offer a route through which students can obtain this vital experience with this valuable internship programme .

Politics single and joint honours students in the School may apply to study abroad during the first semester of their third year. The time spent on exchange will replace a semester spent in Hull, as credits will be transferred and marks will be converted.
