At the forefront of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Nursing provides adult nursing and nursing associate students with all they need to excel.

We combine research-driven education and clinical practice with the opportunity to be involved in high-quality research projects in healthcare. The department carries out nationally and internationally recognised research in a dynamic, welcoming and inclusive environment with excellent facilities.

Our new, £28-million Health Campus is one of the finest training environments in the country. Its quality is matched by the breadth of the courses we offer.

Our exciting range of contemporary programmes consist of BSc Nursing (Adult), Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (Nursing Associate), BSc Nursing (Adult) Apprenticeship and Nursing Associate Apprenticeship.

Our portfolio also includes the University Certificate in Health and Social Care Practice and Alternative Route programme designed to equip students to meet the entry criteria to be eligible to apply for our suite of professional programmes including Nursing (all fields), Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science and Social Work.

Our highly-qualified, experienced academic staff work with local healthcare providers to deliver innovative research and future-led health-related programmes in some of the UK's most advanced facilities.
