Clearing Travel Grant
The University of Hull Clearing Travel Grant is offered as part of our commitment to ensuring that all applicants who are made an offer to study at the University and who wish to attend one of our Clearing Visits are able to do so, therefore enabling them to make an informed decision on where they wish to study.
Eligible applicants must have applied to study at the University of Hull during the Clearing period, reside in the UK, and live 20 miles or further from the University in order to receive the grant.
The University of Hull Clearing Travel Grant award amount is dependent upon the distance travelled to the University and is calculated by the University of Hull. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from the applicant's home address to the University's Cottingham Road campus, postcode HU6 7RX, and will be calculated at the following rates;
|Distance from the University||Grant|
|Less than 20 miles
|150 miles or more
The Travel Grant must be claimed on the day of the visit. The correct amount will be paid in cash if collected by 1pm, or paid into the applicant's bank account within 7 working days of the visit if claimed after this time. If claiming the Travel Grant after 1pm the applicant must complete a form providing their address and bank details.
The Travel Grant cannot be awarded retrospectively or claimed more than once.
Applicants must bring a form of ID in order to collect the Travel Grant. Acceptable forms of ID include a bank card, student card, driving licence or passport. Parents, guardians or accompanying guests may collect the grant on behalf of applicants after they have registered at the Arrival Point on production of the applicant's ID.
The awarding policy can be found here.
