The University Library Poetry Competition 2018Write a poem about change to celebrate National Poetry Day Win Waterstones vouchers and have your poem displayed within the library, on our website and on our social media channels Submission guidelines To enter you must be a current student registered on an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Hull or the Hull York Medical School. (University of Hull employees can also apply provided that they are also registered as a current student.) Poems should be about the theme of CHANGE. Entries must be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document or PDF file under the name [Poem Title - Student Number]. Entries are judged anonymously. Please include your Student Number on the entry but do not include your name except on the entry form. Poems cannot exceed more than two sides of A4 or 40 lines in length. Text should be a minimum of 12 point. All entries must be in English. The closing date for the competition is 1st November 2018. Entrants will be informed of the outcome of the competition by 7th December 2018. Terms and conditions No entries will be accepted after the closing date of the competition (1st November 2018). All entrants will be informed of the outcome of the competition by 7th Dec 2018 Entries not meeting the submission guidelines will not be judged. Entries must be the original work of the person entering. Entries must be previously unpublished, either online or in print. The judge's decision is final. Entrants retain copyright for the poems submitted, however, by entering you are granting the University of Hull the right to publish and/or broadcast the work. By entering the competition you are giving the University Library the right to use your details for the purposes of administering the competition only.
