Cafes, bars and shops

Whether its breakfast, lunch, a quick snack between lectures or a place to have a coffee and catch up with friends, we’ve got it covered on campus. Choose from our seven cafes, serving everything from barista coffee and artisan sandwiches to street food and pizza.

Head on down to the Students Union for even more places to eat and drink including Eats, Scoops and Sanc Bar, and shops including a Spar, Waterstones bookstore, a hairdressers and a print shop.

Creativity lives and breathes at the University of Hull. Enjoy our exciting programme of live music, plays, screenings, exhibitions and performances happening on campus each week.


Make your student experience memorable and unique to you – join in with the Hull student's union societies, sports teams or volunteering opportunities.


Head on down to our Sports and Fitness Centre on campus, our playing fields and 3G pitches, or join a sports society. We provide opportunities for all abilities, from fun, social sessions to representing the University at your chosen sport.


Our Brynmor Jones Library is one of the finest of its kind in the country, following a £28million refurbishment.

It’s a state-of-the-art facility with flexible spaces for silent study, innovative teaching and group projects. So however you want to work, there’s a space for you here.

As well as more than a million books (all available 24/7 during semesters), you’ll find an array of helpful technology, art exhibitions and a stylish café – so the library’s now a place to feed your mind and your stomach.

You’ll also love the panoramic views from our seventh-floor observatory.

Computers and free WiFi

There are more than 1,100 open-access computers and 1,600 study spaces around the University for you to use.

Our high-speed free WiFi means you can also use your own laptop, tablet and smartphone wherever you go.

Asylum nightclub

We're proud to have our very own £3.6-million club– Asylum –right here on campus  and run by our fantastic students’ union. Aside from our well-known club nights, Asylum has had some big names come along to party with us, including Twin Atlantic, Nick Grimshaw, Professor Green, Chase & Status and Enter Shakiri… just to name a few!

Faith and spirituality

Benefit from a variety of religious student societies and places to practice your faith on campus and in Hull.

We have an on-campus chapel, which is used by chaplains for services and groups, and we also have a Muslim prayer room. Find out more about faith and religion.


Little Einsteins Childcare Centre is perfectly situated on campus. The nursery welcomes all childcare vouchers and offers free sessions for children aged two to four years old. You may also be eligible for a Childcare Grant or Parent’s Learning Allowance to help with childcare costs.
