Involve Hull

Patient and Public Involvement

We want to make sure that patients, carers and people who use health and care services have the opportunity to shape our research.

To do this, we have set up a network called Involve Hull. We are looking for people to join our network. This is your chance to influence what we do and how we do it.

By getting involved, you can have your say about:

  • The topics we research
  • How we carry out our research
  • How we recruit patients to take part
  • The information we give participants
  • How we promote our research

You can choose which projects you work with. As a volunteer, the amount of time that you contribute is up to you.

You can read more about what it’s like to be a member of our network in our comic book, The making of Involve Hull: our riverside story.

Who can join Involve Hull?

We are looking for people who:

  • Live with a long term health condition
  • Look after a loved one who needs care
  • Use local health and care services

What can you contribute to research?

Your experience of your own health condition, or of caring for a loved one, is unique. You bring this knowledge as a patient, carer or family member to the research process. You do not need to know how research works.

Researchers know about different health conditions, and how to treat them. But most will not have lived through it. Sharing your experiences and views will fill these gaps in our understanding. You can help us to focus on what really matters to people.
