This apprenticeship provides the educational framework to work as an Assistant Practitioner in a range of healthcare settings, assessing, treating and caring for patients in specific circumstances. Assistant Practitioners carry out delegated tasks from registered Health Professionals and are accountable for certain taks themselves - sometimes working independently.
An apprenticeship is a job with an accompanying skills development programme designed by employers in the sector. It allows you to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience required for your immediate job and future career. These are acquired through a mix of learning in the workplace, formal off the job training and the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real world context. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be able to undertake the full range of duties, confidently and competently to the standard set by the health sector.
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (Associate Practitioner).
