Hull is renowned for its dynamic theatre, poetry and music scene, from Hull Truck Theatre to the up-and-coming group, The Favours. 
The city of Kingston upon Hull’s Royal Charter was granted in 1299.
With a total span of 2,220 metres, the Humber Bridge is one of the world’s longest single-span suspension bridges.

Hull is said to have been the place where the English Civil War started in 1642.

William Wilberforce, slavery abolitionist and social reformer, was born in Hull
in 1759.

The Humber estuary is the busiest shipping region in the UK, with more than 40,000 vessel movements each year.
Believed to have been Britain’s first seaside holiday resort, Scarborough has welcomed visitors for nearly 400 years.
Scarborough Castle, built in the 12th century, dominates the town and harbour.
Superb fossil remains, along the Yorkshire coast near Scarborough, have given the area the title of Dinosaur Coast.
Anne Brontë is buried in St Mary’s churchyard on Castle Hill, Scarborough.
Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre hosts all the premieres of Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s plays.
The North York Moors National Park has almost 2,300km of footpaths
and bridleways.
