Summary
I am a well rounded social scientist with a background in Economics, Sociology and Development Studies. I have taught, worked and published on issues related to social protection of children, youth and older persons in Southern Africa. Of particular interest is masculinity and development issues in the region, where I have looked at male disadvantage across the life course. This included work on the boy child, schooling and living on the streets; young men, unemployment and marriage; and care of older men.
With climate change vulnerabilities, I and currently working on gendered water crises, exploring how women and girls are disproportionately impacted, including their resilience and role in water management.
