This meeting will be held at The Lawns Centre building (halls of residence) which is located in the beautiful village of Cottingham, about 3 miles from the main campus of the University of Hull. The meeting will have 4 sessions, starting at 2.00 pm on Monday, 14 September 2009 and finishing at 1.30 pm on Wednesday, 16 September 2009.

The general topics (not exclusive) for this meeting will be:

1. Stabilisation of foams and emulsions with colloid particles.

2. Fabrication and applications of multifunctional colloids.

3. Novel techniques and materials for microencapsulation.

4. Self-assembly of novel functional materials and smart surfaces.

5. Nanosensors and detection based on colloids and polymers.

The purpose of the annual meeting of the UKPCF is to bring the leading academic and industrial scientists in Colloids and Polymer sciences and Nanotechnology to present new topics of their research and to stimulate intensive discussion, initiate cooperation and networking, and improve the personal links in this field. Participation of young scientists (PhD students and post-docs) is particularly encouraged.

Confirmed keynote and invited speakers are listed below. In addition to these presentations, we have 28 slots available for oral presentations (15+5 min) and 2 posters sessions for 30 poster presentations each.

Important dates (UPDATE from 5 September 2009)

The deadline for submitting abstracts for both ORAL and POSTER presentations has passed and all presentation slots have been completed.

Deadline for registration at early bird rates: 1 August 2009

Payment and cancellation deadline: 1 September 2009

Meeting starts on 14 September 2009

Meeting closes on 16 September 2009
