History and politics

The Finnish army - A good source of information on Finland in the Second World War.  This has a timeline of events. This also contains links to a biography of Marshal Mannerheim.

Agricola - The Finnish History Network - The English version of these pages are still under construction, but there is a lot here for both the English and Finnish reader.  Clicking on the 'Entering history' link, takes you to a menu with a wide selection of documents on Finnish history.  Well worth a browse.

The Library of Congress - This is an extremely comprehensive document about Finland past and present.  The authors write: "this study is an attempt to treat in a compact and objective manner the dominant social, political, economic, and military aspects of contemporary Finland. Sources of information included scholarly books, journals, and monographs, official reports of governments and international organizations, numerous periodicals, and interviews with individuals having special competence in Finnish and Nordic affairs."  The bibliography is particularly useful.
