Dr Nicky Le Feuvre
Dr Nicky Le Feuvre
was recruited as Senior Lecturer in Gender Studies at the Université of
Toulouse-Le Mirail, France, in 1991 and is currently Director of the Simone-Sagesse
Gender Research Centre at the University. Since her arrival in Toulouse,
Dr. Le Feuvre has been involved in extensive inter-disciplinary course
development in the field of Gender Studies and has worked collaboratively
with colleagues from across Europe for many years, authoring the French
national report on Women’s Studies integration for the Sigma consortium (DG
XXII) in 1995. She is a founding member of the Association of Institutions
of Feminist Research in Europe (AOIFE) and the ATHENA Thematic Network,
contributing to one of the volumes on The Making of European Women’s
Studies, published by Utrecht University.
Dr. Le Feuvre has published
a number of books, chapters and articles on women’s employment patterns in
Europe; the feminisation of the professions (including academia); the
family/employment interface; the social policy aspects of gender relations;
the institutionalisation of Women’s Studies in France; and Feminist Theory.
She is co-editor of the ‘féminin-masculin’ books series at the Presses
Universitaires du Mirail (PUM) and in 2002 organised the 3rd
international conference on Francophone Feminist Research, in Toulouse.
