RENAISSANCE forum

An Electronic Journal of Early-Modern
Literary and Historical Studies

About the Journal

Renaissance Forum is an interdisciplinary refereed journal. It specialises in early-modern English literary and historical scholarship and in the critical methodologies of these fields. The journal is published biannually by an editorial board based in the Departments of English and History at the University of Hull.

Its aim is twofold: to offer a platform for work of the highest scholarly standard in an electronic medium, and to provide a forum for scholarly and theoretical debate of a kind that is not possible in most conventional journals. It will include reviews of major publications.

Articles may be downloaded and either stored electronically or printed by the subscriber.

Back numbers are available through the Home Page.

Renaissance Forum is indexed by The Annual Bibliography of English Literature and Historical Abstracts.

Contributions

Contributions of two main kinds are invited:

Submissions are read by at least two specialist referees. Articles are adjudicated on the basis of scholarly merit, and no particular theoretical position is privileged, though most work published in Renaissance Forum will either be historical or bring together the disciplines of literature and history. Copy should be in standard English spelling and punctuation (Modern Humanities Research Association Stylebook) and should follow our guidelines for format.

All articles submitted to Renaissance Forum should be accompanied by an abstract and a declaration guaranteeing that the article is not simultaneously being submitted to any other journal.

Submissions may be sent to the Technical Editor (A.M.Butler@english.hull.ac.uk) as an email attachment, an UUENCODED file or by conventional mail in the form of a disk (Word, Wordperfect for PC or Mac, or ASCII) together with hard copy (three copies) to:
