Found in every tetrad surveyed. This species is usually bird-sown and can be found in hedges and waste places throughout. An unusual variety with greenish-white ripe berries grows in a hedge to the north of Bilton.

Scrambling through the hedges on Snuff Mill and Priory Road fields, also at east end of Sutton village.
