This site is devoted to my current interests, both personal and professional. I would classify myself as a “Naturalist” and have a long standing interest in the documentation of the regions flora and fauna. I am fascinated by the way in which the flora and fauna of the area have changed, and are changing with time. This interest overlaps strongly with archaeology, local history, the planning process and people’s attitude to the natural environment. I have worked at Hull University, in various capacities, since 1972 and am currently the departmental IT Officer and Curator of the University Herbarium. Computers have played a big part in my life for more than twenty years and in that time I have developed various applications for manipulating and storing my natural history records. I am always pleased to hear from anyone with similar interests. The last five years have been devoted largely to the documentation of the flora of Hull. The data from the pilot survey 1996/7 and the recently completed “Millennium Survey” are now available from this site. |
