Thank you for clicking onto my Website.
My name is Alec Gill.
When I first designed and published this website (1997) it was to promote
my public speaking work.
Life, however, has moved on. I now have a more full-time role at the University
of Hull with the Study Advice Service. I am employed by them as both a tutor
(to help students with their academic problems) and as their
MultiMedia developer.
The present purpose of my website is to provide visitors with useful
information which may benefit their personal growth, education, and development in life.

This site was originally recommended by the
BBC
EDUCATION WEB GUIDE - "the best learning resources on the Net are only a click
away". But that was many moons ago and their link is no longer active.
MEDIA INQUIRIES:
An unwitting by-product of this website is
that I am often contacted by a variety of media people (television, radio, newspapers,
etc.) requesting information and interviews - especially when there are any
events linked to superstitions such as Friday the Thirteenth. If I can be of any help, then I am happy to
oblige - if I am free. If you pay a fee, that is even better for me - and helps
fund my ongoing research.
CONTENTS - provides a detailed list of all
fifty-five (55) files contained in this Website. Much of this material originated as teaching
handouts. The site was extended as part of my HETC
(Higher Education Teaching Certificate) qualification (1999) under a Project called
"Teaching Text on the World Wide Web".
In a later update (Jan.2001) I endeavoured to make this website much more
harmonious in its content and useful to visitors from around the world.
KNOWLEDGE is POWER:
If any of the material on my site is useful to you in your learning, education, teaching, or
personal needs, then please feel free to use it for your own benefit, future development and
success in life. My only request is that you too freely pass on the positive knowledge you learn in life for the benefit of others. Knowledge is
power and I feel that the Internet will accelerate global democracy and increase
international peace and understanding. This is obviously a corny line: but
I see my website like a market stall set out in the Global Village - and all the
items are free for the taking.
FEEDBACK:
Your comments and feedback on my site will be
welcomed - especially if you spot any errors that need to be corrected or you
can add some useful information and good weblinks.
