The effects of ambient vitiation on fire development and toxic emissions 1996-1999, EPSRC GR/K96120/01 The objective of this project was twofold, firstly to construct detailed property maps of the species concentration, temperature and particulate soot in turbulent flames of varying Froude number under controlled ambient vitiation and secondly to develop combustion sub-models for CFD prediction of CO and smoke in these turbulent flames and hence for compartment fires under ventilation controlled burning.
