Dr. Philip A. Rubini, CEng, MIET, MInstP Reader in ThermoFluids and Acoustics I have recently completed my term as Head of the Department of Engineering, from 2008 until 2011, after my appointment in the Department of Engineering at the University of Hull in April 2007. I have over 25 years of experience in the development and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to practical engineering problems. After 15 years at Cranfield University, working in close collaboration with Prof. Barrie Moss as the Computational Flows and Combustion Group, in 2007 I relocated to the University of Hull to establish an independent thermo-fluids and acoustics research group. Over my career, research interests have broadened from originally concentrating upon gas turbine combustion, to now encompassing more general process systems, fire safety and heat transfer as well as low speed aerodynamics typified by Motorsport applications and a rapidly developing activity in the field of thermofluids and acoustics. Today this is all within the context of large scale parallel computing. Please follow the links to the left for further information about my research and teaching activities or contact me directly. MSc Research/ MPhil / PhD Opportunities I supervise PhD research projects across a broad selection of topics. Applications are always welcome for PhD, MPhil and MSc by Research degrees topics related to the application and development of CFD, thermo-fluids and acoustics to practical engineering problems. Please contact me directly to discuss opportunites, topics and available funding. See also my Department of Engineering Web Profile
