The Platform for Active Learning is a project based in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Hull. It aims to disseminate good practice in teaching methods that incorporate the principle of Active Learning in University lectures, tutorials and seminars.
In the Teaching Activities section you will find a bank of practical examples for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. These include examples for face-to-face teaching, blended learning and online teaching. Each activity includes instructions, the appropriate material for handouts and print screens for the online programmes.
Whilst the main focus is on Politics degree programmes much of the information and examples are also relevant to the other Social Science disciplines. We hope to build on these examples, to incorporate a much wider range of teaching and learning activities from other Universities and institutions.
This initiative is supported by a University Teaching Fellowship from the University of Hull and C-SAP, the Higher Education Academy subject network for Sociology, Anthropology and Politics based at the University of Birmingham.
