The Boynton family succeeded to Burton Agnes Hall near Bridlington in 1654. Family papers include a 1662 indulgence of the Archbishop of York allowing Francis Boynton and family to eat meat during fasting [DDWB/23/27]; a 1673 sacrament certificate of William Boynton [DWB/11/5] and a grant of tithes in 1772 [DWB/1/11].
