Lawley, Stephen Willoughby

Stephen Willoughby Lawley (1823-c.1901) was the third son of Paul Beilby Lawley Thompson, Baron Wenlock. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford, and was rector of the family church at Escrick from 1848 to 1868 and then sub-dean of York. The family papers include 29 letters to his mother, Lady Caroline Wenlock, and 292 letters from his family, friends and colleagues [DDFA(3)/1/2; DDFA(3)/2].
