Hymers, John

John Hymers (1803-1887) was a mathematician and fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, before becoming Rector of Brandesburton. It was a rich living and the papers include details of his many financial investments. They largely relate to his will by which he set up a £50,000 bequest to establish Hymers College in Hull [DDCV/214].
