
William Dealtry (c.1746-1834) was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, and was a fellow between 1769 and 1775 before taking up rectorial duties at Skirpenbeck for fifty years. He was a pluralist, becoming rector of Bishop Wilton in 1783, rector of Barnby in 1785, prebend of Southwell in 1785, rector of Wigginton in 1786 and even rector of Hatcliffe in Lincolnshire, also in 1786. There are papers on his title to ecclesiastical property at Norwell, Norwell Woodhouse, Southwell, Willoughby, Middlethorpe and Carlton on Trent, all in Nottinghamshire, and at Wigginton, Tollerton, York and Youlton in Yorkshire, as well as a small number of personal papers [DDCV/210].
