These extensive collections of solicitors papers [DDCV; DDCV(2)] include papers relating to tithes (especially during enclosure) throughout the East Riding and papers related to the rectories of Leven, Sproatley and Middleton on the Wolds. Other miscellaneous items include the 1660 petition of Robert Johnson to be presented to the rectory manor of Welton. There are papers (including a small number of letters and wills) for the following individual members of the clergy: the Reverend Mark Sykes [DDCV/131/16-21; DDCV/133/24-28; DDCV/154/63-65; DDCV(2)/32/47]; the Reverend William Bentinck [DDCV/139; DDCV/171] and the Reverend Isaac Close [DDCV(2)/85/24-27]. There are a large number of religious manuscripts for Beverley including papers relating to the union of St Mary's and St Nicholas' parish; assignments of several pews in St Mary's; the minute book of the committee set up to consider alterations in the organ screen at Beverley Minster; a large volume of the manuscript notes of the antiquarian, George Poulson, which includes notes on churches; the 1875 plans by Sir Gilbert Scott for restoration at the Minster; extracts of the patent roll about the hospital and chapel of St Giles and court rolls and rentals for the manor of the chapter of Beverley [DDCV/15-16; DDCV(2)/3-4]. Further miscellaneous items include the parochial valuation list of North Frodingham 1868 [DDCV/120/13]; papers related to the formation of Emmanuel parish in Bridlington in 1912 [DDCV(2)/7/3-8] and the Wyton poor rate book 1781-99 [DDCV(2)/51/19].
