Riding Monthly Meetings
The following changes occurred during the 18th and 19th
centuries:
- Malton and Scarborough merged to form Pickering
Monthly Meeting (1788 - 1858)
[comprised Kirkbymoorside, Malton, Pickering, Scarborough,
Thornton-in-the-Clay and Whitby Meetings]
- Pickering merged with Hull to form Pickering and
Hull Monthly Meeting (1858 - )
[comprised Cave, Filey, Helmsley, Hull, Kirkbymoorside, Malton,
Pickering, Scarborough and Whitby Meetings]
- Richmond Monthly Meeting transferred to
Westmorland Quarterly Meeting in 1816, followed by Durham Quarterly
Meeting in 1860
[comprised Aysgarth, Countersett (later Bainbridge), Hawes, Leyburn,
Masham and Reeth Meetings]
- Guisborough Monthly Meeting transferred to
Durham Quarterly Meeting in 1850
[comprised Ayton, Bilsdale, Castleton and Guisborough Meetings]
