JOANNE PHILLIPS graduated from the University of Hull with a BSc degree in Marine Biology. She is currently completing her MSc in Fisheries Conservation and Management, also at the University of Hull.

In 2005, she joined the History Department at Hull where she is a Research Assistant on the INCOFISH project, based at Blaydes House with the MHSC. Her research entails the collection and analysis of historical and scientific data relating to the change in coastal ecosystems throughout history. She is also responsible for the assembly and organisation of this work from seven other institutions worldwide.
