This laboratory houses a number of workstations equipped with a wide range of software packages including Solidworks Computer Aided Design (CAD), ANSYS and MSC MARC Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Amira, Patran and IDL 3D Visualisation and ADAMS simulation. Biomechanical Models can also be analysed using LifeMOD.
 

 
The combination of software and expertise within MediCET means that virtually any situation can be simulated or analysed. Recent work includes the calculation of jaw muscle force during bite (ADAMS), the reconstruction of various bone CT-scans (AMIRA), and the simulation of aortic aneurysm development (ANSYS-FE).
