Italiano in rete
Italiano in rete is an Italian language learning community consisting of native speakers who log on regularly from Italy, and non-native speakers who want to improve their Italian and gain a deeper understanding of Italian culture.
The community is very active and lively and welcomes learners of Italian at three levels:
- ITALIANO1: absolute beginners (starting end of September)
- ITALIANO2: lower intermediate
- ITALIANO3: upper-intermediate and advanced
ITALIANO 1, ITALIANO 2 and ITALIANO are mainly devoted to language issues. They are all moderated by Italian native speakers who can help with language problems and enhance your language learning with tips on learning strategies.
In addition to the language areas, the project hosts five other main discussion areas:
- CULTURA: discussion of cultural issues from cooking to fashion, education to sport etc.
- POLITICA: discussion of Italian politics; always very fluid and changeable.
- TURISMO: (currently not available. Subject to request.)
- SPORT: (currently not available. Subject to request.)
- SALA INSEGNANTI: (currently not available. Subject to request.)
The lists are moderated and there is no automatic subscription. This has encouraged the development of a real community spirit and a sense of belonging, and has prevented the chaos experienced on some automatics listservs.
The idea is to try to recreate a virtual Italian community and the project has so far been very successful.
Currently there are about 60 participants and many have been in the project since its inception in 1992. Linguistic progress has been impressive during that time.
The list has an interesting cross-section of participants from various parts of Italy and from different professional sectors.
The discussions take place in Italian only.
Parole con
is a magazine made of words. It is also a collection of collaborative works in all romance
languages. It allows the authors of these works to be read and heard. It is born, grows
and develops from the desire to communicate, to make contact with others, to share small
human 'vanities'. Internet has made this possible by breaking down barriers of time and
distances. This is a space where we can enjoy ourselves and spend pleasant momentsin the
company of words, mark our experiences with words which are meaningful to us and are
expression of our selves.Parole con will host poems and short stories. But not only.
Fantasy, creativity, imagination will be the key ingredients of this site
