Aled Edwards is a recording engineer with a particular interest in classical and orchestral recording.

He studied composition at Cardiff University under Richard Elfyn Jones and Anthony Powers. Following an award from the Welsh Broadcasting Trust he went on to study Audio Engineering at the School of Sound Recording (SSR), Manchester.

Aled gained a wide range of experience freelancing across the music and broadcasting industries. Highlights include working with the English Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Ensemble with Pekka Kuusisto, Joby Burgess and BBC Cymru.

Before joining Hull in 2012, Aled held the post of music technician at the University of Aberdeen.
