OriginsThis site has been constructed in response to the many requests we receive each year for information about the erosion of the Holderness coast. It is only within the last year that affordable resources have become available, making it possible produce the maps which form the heart of the site. Many thanks to Getmapping plc for their co-operation and encouragement with the project. The material presented in the “Geography” section has been provided by Prof Jack Hardisty. BackgroundThe Navigation, Photos & Maps links to the left will provide more information about the way the site is organised and how the data were collected and prepared. The Questions link poses some questions about coastal erosion which may be investigated with the resources presented here. Who is the site for ?The information presented here is intended for use by anyone with an interest in coastal erosion. Hull University is uniquely situated for the study of the Holderness coast and has been involved in many projects involving coastal processes.
