Community Plan
The East Riding of Yorkshire has drawn up a Community Plan for 2001-2006. This plan has five specific aims, which are to have:
Improved health;
Greater prosperity;
Reduced crime;
Lifelong learning;
A healthy environment.

Rural Stress Initiative
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has devised a Rural Stress
Initiative, which aims to provide information about organisations
which can provide practical help and emotional support to those
suffering from stress in rural areas. Information regarding this

Vital Villages Scheme
The Vital Villages Scheme aims to provide local rural communities with a better future, by providing grants for the four initiatives listed below:
1) Parish Plan Grant Scheme;
2) Community Services Grant Scheme;
3) Parish Transport Grant Scheme;
4) Rural Transport Partnership.
