RIGS are Regionally Important Geological and Geomorphological Sites. The group has selected Regionally Important Geological Sites in East Yorkshire, based on a set of criteria which identified them for their research, educational, historical or geomorphological importance. Hull Geological Society

The Hull Geological Society was founded in 1888 and is now an educational Charity. The Society organises field trips and conferences and also publishes an occasional journal called Humberside Geologist with articles about local geology and geologists.
