Flamborough is a large settlement situated in the centre of Flamborough
Headland. Flamborough Head with its two lighthouses is one of the
most prominent features on the East Coast of England. The newer
of the two lighthouses was built in 1806 and is still in use today.
Further back from the coast is the old Beacon light tower, dating
from circa 1674, and the only known example in England. The cliffs
and lighthouses make Flamborough a popular tourist attraction during
the summer months.
