Marine Litter

Beach Search

By choosing 'Beach Search' from the main index of the Environment Agency BeachBeat site, the EA database can be accessed and searched for information concerning marine litter in Flamborough. By selecting the town using the drop-down menu, selecting a particular beach and subsequently clicking on the survey date, information is provided on the overall grading for the beach (calculated by the database from the survey information), together with individual gradings for a variety of litter categories (A = very good, B = good, C = fair, D = poor). Marine Conservation Society

The MCS Good Beach Guide website provides a guide to bathing beaches in the UK which have achieved the highest water quality standards and are not affected by continuous inadequately treated sewage discharges. The beach at Danes Dyke has achieved this standard, and information about the beach (including litter) can be found at this link.

More general information on marine litter in the East Riding area can be found by searching under the Environment section.
