The lobster aquarium

The temperature controlled room can maintain up to 50 lobsters or other crustaceans. It also contains the recirculating flume.

Recirculating flume

This 5m x 1m tank can simulate different marine and freshwater environments with or without flow. Two video cameras connected to time lapse recorders monitor animal behaviour in the experimental section of the tank. The flume is used to study social interactions of small groups of crayfish and lobsters as well as the mechanisms of chemo-orientation.
