I graduated in Biology (Diploma (MSc)) from the University of Konstanz, Germany 2000. In my Diploma (MSc) project I worked on acoustic communication in fresh water fish and since then communication in aquatic animals is my main research focus. I joined the sensory and chemical ecology group at Hull University in 2002 and started working on chemical communication and Bioacoustics. At the moment I'm working on a NERC project to identify and purify the female sex pheromone in the European Shore Crab Carcinus maenas.
